Longhorns make move to #9 in new AP Top 25 Poll

After defeated unranked Louisiana Tech 45-14 on Saturday in the team’s season opener, the Longhorns moved to #9 in the first regular season Associated Press Preseason Top 25 poll.  Falling out of the Top 10 were the Florida Gators, who squeaked by an unranked Miami team in the first week of college football action.  Oregon fell 5 spots, to #16 after losing to Auburn last Saturday in Arlington, TX.  Boise State enters the Top 25 at #24 after edging Florida State 36-31.

Texas was ranked 10th in the Week 1 (preseason) AP Top 25.

The Longhorns will face non-conference foe #6 LSU on Saturday in Austin in a non-conference matchup.   The Tigers defeated Georgia Southern 55-3 last Saturday in Baton Rouge to open their season.
