The Texas Longhorns defeated the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs 45-14 at Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium, giving head coach Tom Herman his first season-opening victory with the Longhorns.

Sam Ehlinger threw for four touchdowns and 276 yards before being replaced by backup quarterback Casey Thompson early in the 4th quarter.

Keaontay Ingram led the Longhorns in rushing with 78 yards and a touchdown, and Brennan Eagles led the team in receiving with 59 yards and two touchdowns.

The Longhorns (1-0, 0-0) will host LSU (1-0, 0-0) next weekend at Darrel K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium.
