Longhorns Lose 2-1 to Mizzou, End Tourney Run

Published

on

The Texas Longhorns could not muster up enough runs to match Missouri’s two runs scored in the rematch of Saturday’s games between the two schools.  After beating Missouri earlier in the day to force a 2nd game, the Longhorns watched Mizzou’s Kelly Fick throw 7 scoreless innings before earning one run in the eighth of Phil McCormick who earned the save for the Tigers.

Toby Milner pitched well but the Texas bats couldn’t get going.  Missouri plays Texas A&M in the Championship game tomorrow in Oklahoma City.  In the spirit of the game, all I have to say is GEAUX TIGERS (I was born in Baton Rouge and my parents went to LSU)…

It is on the bigger and better for the Longhorns who are certain to host a regional in Austin.  Hook ’em!
