I just wonder if we ever fail to give the other team credit? Yes Kansas is a bad team and they got killed by OU and Kansas St..but they only lost to TCU by 14 and OKST by only 6. They are not nearly the worst team in the history of football as some have claimed. Add to that, it was homecoming and you have a team ripe to play well.
Now as for James Sims. We need to back off here a bit as well. This is the same guy who rushed for over a 100 against KS and OU. He had 28 for 174 but take away one 64 yard run and we held the guy about as well as anyone.
The much maligned defense held Kansas to a field goal in the second half.
We need to come back to earth and quit with the end of the world talk..and..yes I am talking about you and me. We are 6-2 and bowl eligible. Not perfect but hardly reason for gnashing of teeth.
I am actually seeing some progress. Johnathan Gray had over a 100 with a 5.7 yard average. The defense played better and Mack is getting better at timely timeouts.
Plus instead of a day and night of mourning we get to see this!
