Winning streak hits 14 as #3 Longhorns beat Bobcats 5-1

Texas pitcher Pete Hansen pitched 8 1/3 innings on Tuesday night at Bobcat Park in San Marcos, leading the Longhorn Baseball team to a 5-1 victory over Texas State.  The win was the 14th straight for Texas, which is currently ranked No. 3 in the country.

Hansen gave up three hits, struck out four and gave up one earned run in the winning effort.

The Bobcats scored their lone run in the first inning on a sacrifice fly.  The Longhorns added two runs in the third inning on Mike Antico and Zach Zubia RBI's respectively.

Texas added another pair of runs in the seventh inning thanks to RBI's from Zubia and Silas Ardoin.

Ardoin added another RBI in the ninth, making the score 5-1.

Aaron Nixon relieved Hansen and retired two batters straight to seal the win for the Longhorns.

Texas heads to Stillwater, Oklahoma next for a 3-game series against Oklahoma State.
