Why I feel UT jumped the gun in hiring Strong

He may be a great coach. This is just my opinion. In the past 4 years as coach he has only had 1 what I would consider a quality win. That was Florida in Jan. 2013. Almost all of the wins I saw to me were tier 2 schools.

Lets look at the ending records for the 2013 school that made up his 12-1 record.

Ohio Bobcats w/l 7-6

Eastern Kentucky 6-6

FIU 2-10

Temple 1-11

Rutgers 6-7

UCF (L) 12-1

South Florida 2-10

Connecticut 3-9

Houston 8-4

Memphis 3-9

Cincinnati 8-4

Miami * 9-4 Miami in my opinion lost to the quality schools they played and won against lesser talented. Big win was against 4-8 Florida.

Strong may come through and surprise everyone but if I was on a committee I would be looking at who has he beaten. Okla/Okla. lite,UCLA in 2014,KS, Baylor, TCU are not going to be cake walks

I don't dislike Strong-He may be a great coach...I just don't want to go through another 3-4 year disappointment

He played the schedules he was given. His years at Florida and South Carolina gave him a taste of big boy football every Saturday.

Once again, flawed logic. Are people not thinking before they post something?

Yes, because Strong can determine who he plays in conference.

Moreover, it's been mentioned before that Georgia cancelled on Louisville for the 2011 and 2012 seasons so there's that too...

That you seem to think Louisville (Louisville I say) played inferior opponents is statement enough for me to dismiss.

Because Kansas and Iowa State are world beaters (thrown in TCU this year too).

Louisville cant get the players that Texas can. They do more with less. That said, he did a hell of a job recruiting there. Imagine what he can do at Texas.

As far as jumping the gun, who else would Texas realistically get? Fisher is a longshot.

And was beaten by Central Florida
UCF is a conference opponent

UCF made the BCS and BEAT the Big 12 Conference Champion

We were demolished by the Big 12 Conference Champion

Nick Saban lost to Louisiana Lafayette

Mack lost to Iowa State

Your argument isn't as "awesome" as you think it is...

Good Lord.

Let's take it further...

Everyone on this board would agree that we absolutely destroyed OU, correct?

Nick Saban just got destroyed himself by OU, a team we beat handily.

Once again....logic people.
