Late edition of the Mailbag. Game weeks are busy.
willieboye: How many points/yards do the 'horns need to score against New Mexico St to show offensive improvement in your eyes?
I wanted to see about 200 yards and 2 scores in the first quarter. Fast starts are hard to come by here.
bbdude: Who leads the Lonhorns in rushing against the Aggies in your opinion?
I would have went with Gray. I expected the offensive line to be much more dominant in the early going.
MBHORNSFAN: How many snaps should Desmond Harrison get considering he will only have one full practice in pads?
15 would have been appropriate to get his feet wet. Was a good thing he played more, that guy is a monster.
What if anything will we be able to conclude about UT from destroying a bad NMSU team?
We concluded the Jeckyl and Hyde stuff MUST go away right now. Past that, we learned they did their jobs for two quarters and great things happened. Hard to gauge what progress was made.
I have us starting 6&0 what do you think?
Attainable, but I wont pick Texas to beat OU again until they do it. Been left at the alter too many times with Mack.
Name one offensive player and one defensive player who might have a break out year.
Offense: Kendall Sanders, Defense: Duke Thomas
will_hookem: Returning 19 of 22 starters is huge, as age and experience is a major factor factor in college athletics... In your opinion is it enough to get UT to a BCS bowl game?
Until they prove they can come out and hit the gas from the first snap, no. Just so much of the story yet to be told between now and the end of the OU game.
