Doesn't matter if the hire appears to be a "single". Pete Carroll was a "single", if not a walk when he was hired, and that did fine.

dkr was a relative nobody. pete carroll was a recently fired NFLer with mediocre results. stoops was more-or-less the muschamp of his day.

and dennis franchione was a 'grand slam' coming to aggy. so was rich rod going to UM.

one thing for sure...it ain't a science and whoever we hire could be great. or not.
