Unfortunately college football won't be back for another 8 months but don't fret, college basketball is in full swing and there are plenty of games to keep an eye on this weekend in the Big 12 and the rest of college basketball. For your reading pleasure, I give you "What to watch for in the Big 12"

Big 12 game to watch

Oklahoma At Iowa State

This game will be played at the same time as the Texas-Kansas game but I would flipped to this game on a commercial break. Iowa State at home is very tough but Oklahoma wants to establish themselves as the second best team in the Big 12. Texas fans should root for Iowa State in this game because if the Longhorns were to lose to Kansas, an Oklahoma loss will help them stay in 2nd place.

Other Games To Watch (Tourney implications and other interesting games)

Duke At Syracuse

This is one of the few times where College Gameday pre-picked destinations actually worked out for them. 20-0 Syracuse playing one of the college basketball blue bloods, the Duke Blue Devils. I like the Blue Devils to pull off the upset but I do think Syracuse could win the national title. I won't ever pick them to because Jim Boeheim rarely wins big in the NCAA tournament but they did make it to the Final Four last year which was only the 4th time in Boeheim's 38 years as Syracuse Head Coach.

Ohio State At Wisconsin

With Ohio State's freefall, they may be a likely first round opponent for the Longhorns. The Buckeyes are traveling to Madison to play the Wisconsin Badgers. Both teams are coming off of bad (really bad) losses so each of them would want a victory on Saturday. I think the Badgers will win at home because I think they were overlooking Northwestern and that is why they lost.

Upset Alert

Memphis At SMU

You can say whatever you want about SMU and their recruiting tactics, but Larry Brown has gotten the most out of this team this season. Memphis is good but they struggled with a poor UCF team last night on the road so this seems like an easy upset special to pick.

Enjoy your weekend and watch some college basketball!
