Well it appears Strong will be official very soon pending some last minute crazyness (which I could see) We could all debate what happened, what went wrong etc etc but at this point I have decided that I will support Coach Strong. I will be renewing my LHF donation in a few days and that will trigger my excitement for the new era. Strong will get at least 4 years if by then it's not working then I am sure we will be doing this all again.

The BDMs threading to pull their money, CS should have discussed this with his AD before going live. The battle of the coaches and CS wanting to bring NCAA violation type coaches to our organization? A circus because of the BMD's trying to insert their unwanted influence in sports related decisions, which none have any real experience in making? Or circus surrounding people (Dodds and Brown) that needed to be fired years ago?

Um, CS hasn't discussed this with his AD or President, maybe it's just me but doesn't seem protocol to me. TN offered CS a job and was turned down once he learned he could not take his guy with him. No team wants coaches with NCAA violations. And now the buyout clause is a factor. Clearly the BDMs are all over the board with this. After what the fan base has been through would have been nice for this to be a clean hire, rally the troops and get behind our new coach regardless of who was hired. No confirmation from UT yet.... Feels like the debacle continues.

That is the key. Strong can be a great coach at Texas. We will have to wait and see. I always had a little heartburn about Saban. He is without questions a great coach. But, could he do it at Texas? I am not convinced he would have the same success here.

This was never going to be a clean hire. Mack Brown wasn't a clean hire either. At places like Texas, there are too many egos to placate to make anything clean. As far the negotiations ongoing, you are talking out of your ass by stating anything as truth.

This x1000. I don't understand why people are so quick to assume that something went wrong. It may be that Patterson pursued others others and Strong was the best we could get. It is just as possible/likely that after considering all of the options, Patterson determined that Strong is simply the best man for the job. We'll never know for sure, and it really doesn't matter. Instead of letting all the unfounded rumors and conspiracy theories fantasies of what-might-have-been color our perception of the situation, let's just appreciate it for what it is:
