I've started a thread about the trap game that Louisiana would/could be. They are a very good team with tons coming back. We get them at home to start off the Sark Era at UT.
But the following week, we may have another trap game in the makings – Arkansas.
What would be worse than opening the season with a home struggle against Louisiana? Losing in Fayett Nam to Arkansas. Thats what.
Why worry? They suck, right?
Well, last year they were recovering from the Morris experiment. By mid-season, they were becoming a good team. They will return 19-20 starters from that unit and now have had time to fully install their system.
We will be the more talented team that walks onto that field that day. But Arkansas still hates us. Beating Texas really matters to them. And we'll be in that hornet's nest to play them.
These two opening games don't look real sexy on paper, but realistically they are big ass bumps in the road that we'll have to carefully navigate. We'll quickly see what kind of HC we have and what kind of team we have this year.
