Texas Tech reporter Chris Level was on ESPN Austin/104.9 The Horn yesterday. While on The Game, Level was asked about the feeling around Tech this week, the excitement for the game, and if the fans had the blood in the water mentality.
Level's answer was an indictment of how far the Texas football program has fallen. Level stated the fan base was cautiously optimistic, but largely expected to beat Texas like its no big deal.
Sadly it's not a big deal. They should expect to win, we've been that bad, and we seem to keep spiraling downward.
Keep that in mind Horn fans, as you judge the season and your coach game by game. The fans in God awful Lubbock, Texas don't see once mighty Texas as even close to the biggest game on their schedule.
There was a time when we broke hearts and ruined seasons. Now we get taken to the wire by teams like Kansas because the respect is gone.
Today we learn Cole Luke, a 2013 DB we needed, from the same school Conner Brewer came from passed on "DBU" to attend Notre Dame. That hurts.
I believe we got dumped because in this "what have you done for me lately" world, we havent done anything. Is this an omen? Remains to be seen, but the luster is gone right now.
Hows that feel?
