West Virginia knocked back down to Big East Earth?

Look I know they beat us in Austin this year but West Virginia was riding high to start the season, Geno Smith was the Heisman favorite and all of a sudden... POOF. They get whipped by Texas Tech, they lose to Kansas State and most recently TCU - all in a row. Looking at the 'Eers upcoming games, they face Oklahoma State in Stillwater and then OU in Morgantown. The Mountaineers could easily lose both of those games which would put them on a 5 game losing streak. They close with Iowa State and Kansas which they should win, but WVU could end this season at 7-5. Would be a huge disappointment for Holgorson and company and Geno Smith ain't winnin' no Heisman with that record.

Is WVU just an average team in n above average conference?

Just starting conversation - with a little spark. I like the WVU folk but even they will tell you they are perplexed and disappointed.
