I love Colt Mccoy, but I wondered when I heard the news about his trade to the Niners if they ever considered Vince Young?
Vince for his career has completed 57.9% of his passes. Colt has completed 58.3%. Vince has thrown for 46 to's with 51 interceptions. Colt has 21 and 20. Vince has 1459 yards rushing in 60 games. Colt has 300 in 20 games.
My problem with Vince's stats is he has never been in an offense that utilized his talents. The closest he came was his rookie year when he threw for over 2000 yards and ran for nearly 600 yards. That is nearly all improvised runs when the pocket broke down.
Colt was never given a chance either, but he did at least play in an offense he is more suited. Although he had few weapons because of a coach with a system to run the ball on nearly every down.
The separation of the two to me is Vince's record. Over his career he was part of a 31-19 record. The other aspect is he is just out there to be signed. He fits the new QB system the NFL has gone to, and he won't cost any draft picks.
Again, I am happy for Colt and glad he got a new team. He now has a chance to win a ring. I just wonder why Vince is out there?
