The Longhorn Network's flagship pre-game show, Texas GameDay, returns with insights, analysis and a set of familiar faces starting at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30 live from Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium. This season host Lowell Galindo, analysts Brooks and Heisman Trophy winner Ricky Williams will be joined by Young, former NFL Pro Bowler and quarterback of Texas’ 2005 national championship team.

The set will offer live reaction pre-game, at halftime and also post-game analysis and interviews immediately following the game on Texas GameDay Final powered by Chevy Silverado.

“Vince is one of the greatest and most beloved athletes in Texas history. Adding his experience and depth of football knowledge is a major coup for Texas GameDay and UT fans everywhere,†said Tom McCollum, Coordinating Producer, Longhorn Network. “We are thrilled to have another Longhorn legend on our team as we head into our fourth football season.â€

Williams returns for his second full year on Texas GameDay. Adding to his GameDay duties, Williams will also join Longhorn Extra every Friday during football season.

SMH.......Please, LHN noooooooooo!!!!! I think YV is probably the BEST college dual threat QB ever, but I can't see him as a talking head ....I had trouble listening the few minutes when LHN interviewed him during the bracket challenge.

Maybe you could time it so that when VY is on, you could mow the grass or wash your car.

VY needs a LOT of polish.  He may have interesting points to make, but he has trouble articulating them.  Agree that he's tough to listen to during his LHN interviews.

Polar opposite of Ricky, who I think is great in this role.  I like Dan Neil, too.  David Thomas also needs to work on his delivery, IMO.

It'll just take some time. But he is who he is and some people like his style of conversation. Hopefully he'll work out.

My question is how this works with him being an employee of UT at the same time. He's not going to be able to give an objective viewpoint, so what does he bring?

It's the Longhorn Network. I don't think 'fair and balanced' is really their goal.

and to those with concerns about his speaking style, if Lou Holtz can cash checks for twenty years as an analyst, anybody can.

oh, and good to see you Lukus. been a while.

Hats off to Vince. He sat above us at a baseball game and instead of getting to watch much of the game, he took time out to sign autographs for many kids and fans who approached him. He could have simply returned to the confines of the suite, but sat there and signed t shirts etc. for the people who asked for autographs.....

LHN should really work on getting people who have appealing voices. Seriously...Rod Babers...SMH, and that young lady, who's name escapes me, doing the softball games .....Just hurts a person's ears to listen to her. Nothing against her personally...She actually does a good job as a commentator , but her voice .....aarrrrgghhhh ....

No way in hell he gets that gig if he was not the athlete he was.  I guess that's true in many cases, but it's still not a reason for hiring someone, at least IMO.

Vince will be fine.  He's a beloved icon around Longhorn land.  People will forgive him if he misspeaks from time to time.  Ricky Williams is a pretty good commentator in my opinion.  They'll be fine together.

he did disappear suddenly. has anyone ever seen him and monarch in the same room?
