Looked at Herman's Twitter and the person he most recently started following was Jerrod Heard. Maybe it means nothing, but it certainly makes me hopeful.

Could be a situation of him vetting us. Checking to see if the star Quarterback he would be working with has his head on straight. Twitter is very telling.

I think he will like what he sees of Heard!

Did you post this on OB too or am I having a déjà vu moment? It seems like every post here is there too and vice versa.

2:48am????

I think we know who the next offensive coordinator is. I don't think it's vetting. You don't go through a vetting process on Twitter. You have to sit down or have some type of conversation on the phone with the player. Would be surprised now if Herman isn't the OC.

Not to be a Debbie Downer, but he could be following him because he's trying to get a last minute flip to Ohio State? I hope it's what you guys are thinking, but i fear it's not.

Tom Herman was my nephew's WR coach while he was at Sam Houston State. Nephew is a high school coach now and speaks highly of him. I hope we can steal him away from Ohio State.

Heard never showed any interest in Ohio State. All the other schools on the list who offered, he had more interest in than Ohio State. Also, if Herman thought he had a legitimate shot at flipping Heard he would have followed him much earlier. It's pretty late in the game for Herman to just now go after Heard. I guess Herman could be trying to flip Heard, but it's a little telling that Herman has been rumored as a top candidate for a few days now for the OC position and just now he starts following Heard.

Also, when Herman was a graduate assistant under Davis he said he loved Texas and it's a dream job. I don't think Herman would be trying to screw up a dream job, when he's clearly a top OC candidate. It's one thing to go after Heard, but to go after him in the middle of potentially getting a "dream job" doesn't make sense to me.

FYI an Aggie was talking smack on Twitter about going to a better school like A&M. I responded with...."Do better? You guys have never won a BCS game or a national title in over 70 years. I would call that doing worse." Heard favorited the comment. I don't think he's going anywhere.

Given the quarterbacks that Ohio State has on the roster and as recruits I think your concern would be a long shot.

Yep, with Braxton Miller returning and JT Barrett on the roster I think Herman trying to flip Heard is a long shot. JT Barrett is suppose to be their Heard. 3 Freshman QBs on the roster plus Braxton, makes it unlikely they are looking for another QB. They also have a QB already in this year's class. 6 QBs is a little much in terms of giving up scholarships.
