Texas can have an absolutely loaded class in 2016 if they can win on the court this year.

Texas has offered 4 PFs so far Giles, Leaf, Durham, and Allen (all of these players are top 20 in the nation). Allen plays ball in Austin and is considered a Longhorn lock by a lot of people. Texas is also in the mix with Leaf.

Texas has offered one combo guard in Fox. He's the number 6 player in the country. He's considered a huge Longhorn lean.

Texas also has a decent shot with shooting guard Fergerson who is the number 12 player in the country. If Texas offers I think we would be a favorite to land him.

In other words Texas is in good shape with Allen and Fox who are top 20 players. Texas also has a decent shot with Fergerson and Leaf. Huge season this year for the Longhorns.

Is this a result of getting Turner or was last year's play the reason?
Texas has always been able to get in on Top 30 and 50 recruits but some years were unable to land them.

I believe (and many others as well) that the philosophy has changed in recruiting. Get 1 Top 20 guy and fill the rest with 20-100 ranked recruits that will stay for 3 to 4 years. That way, Texas isn't constantly rebuilding. It's the Bill Self style of recruiting. Calipari is going to sign 5 top 30 guys, that's a given. But Texas can't recruit like that.

I think it's a little bit of a "perfect storm" per se. Last years success, a little momentum from Turner, and just the fact that a couple of the elite kids in 2016 are Longhorn fans have all played a contributing factor.

I also think two important pieces are Rob Lanier and Chris Ogden. Ogden is apparently an ace recruiter and I've said this for a while Lanier is the glue that holds the staff together.
