I'm honestly surprised most of these preseason polls do not have Texas ranked in the top 25.

Texas lost Holmes and Turner, but returns essentially 4 starters (Ridley, Taylor, Yancy and Holland). Texas had its struggles last year but were a tournament team. There's also a lot of experienced depth off the bench in Felix, Lammert, and Ibeh (plus Cleare who transferred last year). Throw in the fact Texas added 3 top 55 composite recruits in the '15 class. I'm not saying this team will win a national title, but it wouldn't surprise me a bit if they make a Sweet 16. Tons of experience and talent.

Longhorn Network debuts “All Access: Smart Start”

Take a look inside the Texas Basketball program when LHN debuts one-hour show on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 9 p.m. Central.

AUSTIN, Texas â€” Longhorn Network will broadcast the debut show of “All Access: Smart Start” on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 9 p.m. Central. The one-hour show takes a look inside the Texas Basketball program and the student-athlete experience from a full week of access provided to the network earlier this summer.

The show provides an excellent opportunity for fans to get to know each of our players and our entire coaching staff. It also details the program’s five core values – appreciation, enthusiasm, competitiveness, teamship and accountability.

The national media doesn`t believe the Texas bigs can play in Shaka`s system. I think Ibeh and Lammert are keys to season because if Ibeh can avoid foul trouble his defensive presence and dunking ability will be huge as big man in Shaka`s press. Lammert needs to hit 3`s as stretch 4 but his passing abilty to set up Ridley or Cleare on post up`s leaving Ridley and Cleare against only one post defender will open the paint. Shaka needs to limit the bigs to only 5 or 6 minutes before subbing out Ridley should have more space in paint if he has the stamina .

Agree, because you know Ibeh is going to flirt with foul trouble every game. The refs seem to have it in for him for some reason. It is wonderful thing to watch him swat shots.

UTisdabomb – Agree, I think Texas belongs somewhere around 22 or 23. We're going to surprise a lot of people this year.
