The Maryland AD interviewing at Texas??

Well, he is the AD who fired Ralph Friedgen as football coach. And he also basically fired OC and named HC in waiting James Franklin (now at Vanderbilt) by telling him he would not be the next Maryland HC. He then hired Randy Edsall, who is less than adequate.

With that track record, I would not want Anderson as AD when I need a new football coach.

The Maryland athletics department also is way over its head in debt. Anderson inherited most of it, but he also added to it by stupid moves, as those noted above.

Notre Dame had been working with the previous Maryland AD to arrange games in both football basketball before we joined the ACC, but Anderson and Swarbrick apparently did not mesh well.

Interesting although not that surprising. We know that they will have to interview multiple candidates even if Luck is the front runner if for no other reason to make it appear that they did a through search and decided that Luck was the best candidate.
