I think the Big 12 is a very good conference. I think they messed up a couple of years ago when they didnt add 2+ quality teams.
Ok St has been pretty good last few years(especially in 2011 when they should have played for the title) and beat Stanford. The Big 12 needs to have teams other than Texas and Ou beat a few big boys.
Tcu had a chance vs Lsu last year @JerryWorld but didnt do it. Bu didnt beat UCF & Ok St lost to a team that played in Sec title game. Ou did beat Bama.
Beating some big names in regular season or bowl games will go a long way to proving the conference is legit, Texas and Ou need to do it but Bu, TT, OK St and others need to do it on occasion also.
In 2014(ooc games vs BCS teams):
Bu plays - nobody
Iowa St - Iowa(avg team)
Kansas - Duke(even a win, people will say its Duke and that will be hard bc they were pretty decent in '13)
KSt - Auburn, win and everyone takes notice
Ou - Tennessee - have to beat a below avg Tenn team.
Ok St- FSU, winning this game alone validates Ok St and big 12.
Tcu - Minnesota, not much credit for winning this unless Minn wins 8+ games.
TT- Arkansas, it still would look good to beat a Piggy team that will win a couple of conf games in 14
WVU - Bama, win this and it validates conference. Mountaineers also play a bowl eligible Maryland team(2013 score Terps 37 WVu 0 - doesnt look good for big12)
Texas - BYU and UCLA. Beating a very good UCLA team in Dallas would be an amazing start for Coach Strongs first year and would put the conference on notice. Must beat an average Byu team.
Big 12 needs to get a team into the playoffs. Sec & Acc will probably get a team into the playoffs next year and Big 10(tosh) & Pac(Oregon,Ucla) have a good shot also. SOS needs to matter. Could not having a CCG hurt us? Right now Big12 is outside looking in but long way to go.
