***** Texas vs. Uconn game thread *****

I didn't see both of Ibeh's fouls but one was on a made 3 pt'er. He needs to play smarter, the team needs him in the paint on D.

Getting tired of offensive charging fouls. Of course I am biased, but it always seems like our guy is going to the rim and the defensive guy is moving.

Nice put back/jam by Miller (UConn), reminiscence of TJ Ford's put back/jam against Baylor years ago.

Man i love the energy that this team gives on possessions compared to recent years. Shaka is going to do some good things.

Anyone else really tired of crappy free throw shooting?

I like the agreesiveness of Cleare tonight. Hopefully he continues to show improvement. We have a glaring need for bigs next year, hope Shaka has some recruits on the horizon.

That was a win with Ridley. I hope our season doesn't go wheels off without the big guy. Probably not a great idea for him to return this season with a foot fracture repair and him carrying a lot of weight. Look at all of the NBA big guys over the years with re-injuries and poor healing which limited their careers with foot issues. I wish him the best, just don't want him to have further problems by coming back too soon for a few games at the end of the year.

Dude has played for three div 1 schools. That's a bit ridiculous to me that he actually has eligibility left.
You left out that he had committed to Maryland out of high school.  He got a release from his Letter of Intent there and came to Texas after the Maryland coach at the time retired.  He said that he really liked Texas, the players and the coaches - apparently, he still talks to Coach Barnes on a regular basis.  He went home on Mother's Day during his freshman year at Texas, and he found out that his father was seriously ill, so he transferred to Seton Hall to be closer to home in New Jersey.  He sat out a year before playing.  After having two good years at Seton Hall, he apparently became disillusioned with the direction of the Seton Hall program.  Apparently there was some discord in the locker room.  He got his degree at Seton Hall and he had one year of eligibility left, so under the graduate transfer rule he decided to go to UConn since they have had a pretty good record of putting guards into the NBA.  It seems to me that the young man has potential ... I would have liked to have seen what he could have done had he stayed at Texas.  The Year of the Kabongo Fiasco might have turned out a bit differently.
