Texas (9-1) vs. Providence (6-6)

Big East/Big 12 Battle - Dunkin' Donuts Center - Providence, Rhode Island

Tip-off:  1:00 PM CST

TV:  FOX

I thought Shaka had recruited some shooters?  This is a shit show thus far.  No offensive set, just missed jump shots the last 5 minutes.

For fun we should play a guessing game.  Who remains in Austin the longest:

Tom Herman / Shaka Smart

Shaka has an advantage in that very few care what goes on in basketball.

I’d be really happy to see a Texas team that didn’t get noticeably worse as the season progressed.   I can’t say that for the last season in:  football, basketball or baseball.

Good quote by the color commentator

“This Texas Offense has been devoid of any real strategy today.”

Will Baker...0/3 3 pt attempts....just stop it dude, you are never going to make a 3 pointer.

DelConte has some work to do.   His 2  bell-cow sports (football / men’s basketball) are in really in bad shape.   By the way, if you think this is an overreaction for a 9-2 team I would suggest that you’re probably not watching the games.   The Purdue win was really, really (CTH reference) nice.  But other than that this team has looked fundamentally unsound against bad competition.   The Aggie game was simply terrible.  This game was embarrassing.

If I were a betting man I would be taking all bets for those blinded by a 9-2 record - that Texas will not go .500 in Big 12 play.   I hope I’m wrong.

This was a very ugly game for the Horns and it might be the beginning of the end for Shaka.

I took my wife to a game this year and she was amazed at how little of a crowd there was. Granted the students were off but still.
