Alderman – The Longhorns have edges in most of the position matchups against Kansas and the overall talent advantage leans toward Texas. That said, this Kansas team is better than any we have seen since Weis took over. The Jayhawks’ defense will keep the game close for about a quarter, but the lack of production and time of possession by the Kansas offense will allow Texas to wear down their defense. And don’t look for weather to be a factor as game time forecast shows a sunny 81 with winds no higher than 9 MPH. Texas 35 – Kansas 6
Carrara – I think Swoopes comes out and is a bit jittery in his first true road game as starting quarterback. With that in mind, I think this game is closer than Texas fans are planning for at halftime. In the second half though…Texas turns on the afterburners. Texas 38 – Kansas 13
Cotcher – This Texas team has not played a complete game yet. Charlie Strong has been channeling his inner Saban and talking about “the process†a lot. This game is the next step, not the end result that most are planning to see. Texas 27 – Kansas 10
Feeley – Been quite a roller coaster so far so it's hard to predict. I’ll bet Texas still feels the loss of those dismissed starters while Swoopes continues to wow. Kansas gets a garbage time score to make it respectable. Texas 28 – Kansas 12
Flanagan – Texas isn't great but they aren't KU bad. Texas gets a big win. Texas 42 – Kansas 17
Hinton – Swoopes continues to make great strides and the offensive line plays their best game of the year. Malcolm Brown will have a solid day running the ball, and the defense will shut down the Kansas offense. While there will still be some things for the Longhorns to improve upon, Texas leaves Lawrence with a sound victory and carries some momentum into the most difficult stretch of games. Texas 31 – Kansas 10
Hopkins –The team has been building and bettering themselves, and tomorrow they'll prove it. UT is ready to compete and ready to win. Texas 28 – Kansas 14
Roach – I think Texas, even in their current state, is the more talented team. Swoopes will overcome a slow start by putting up an impressive performance. Texas 31 – Kansas 10
