Texas State at Texas (6:00PM)

Hey Cotcher, I have it under control at Command Central; go grab you a beer and some supper and head back after.

More lightning flashed just now. Look like it's  in campus just on the other side of I-35.

And yet another strike of lightening.  7:45 earliest start now.

Game officially cancelled.

Well that was fun.

If I get struck by lightning on the way to the car, I want y'all to know how much I love you.

Just buy a Lotto ticket beforehand and sign my name to it.  Odds are about the same.  :)

joey,

You never heard of Roy Sullivan?

Ol' Roy shot himself because he was heartbroken.  As often as he was struck by lightening, he should've bought a Lotto ticket weekly.  Probably would have had lots of money, and therefore lots of women.

Although, now that I think about it, he still may have died from a gunshot wound, but perhaps not from his own hand.  ;)

Game will NOT be rescheduled.

It was cloudy all day in Austin with a 20% chance of rain. For the last 2-3 years that's a guarantee that it won't rain.

Lightning strikes started around 5:30 and continued, without rain, for 90 minutes. They finally cancelled the game around 7:00 and as soon as the stadium emptied, the skies cut loose with rain.

It's still raining & there's a flash flood watch until after 11pm.

In summary: Heavy lightning; Game cancelled; Soaked people; Flash Floods.....all from a 20% chance of rain.
