We had three of our players selected in this year draft.
With the 15th pick in the 2013 NFL draft, the New Orleans Saints chose Kenny Vaccaro, Safety, from our university
Mack now has seen 16 players selected in the first round, in his 15 years in Austin. The Longhorns join LSU for the most DB's in the league.
Quote from Saints site:
Good luck Longhorn and 'Who Dat'....
With the 78th pick in the 2013 NFL draft, the Buffalo Bills take Marquis Goodwin, Wide Receiver of our university
This from 'Inside the Bills" on Goodwin:
I think Marquis is in a perfect situation, with a new QB, and a new system. He will be starting with everyone else. The really good news is he won't have Harsin holding him back. I truly believe he would have been a first round pick if Major had been the OC over his time at Texas.... Good luck Longhorn.
With their pick in the 4th round, the Arizona Cardinals, take Alex Okofor of our university
This from AZ Central on Okofor:
Word is Acho has already contacted Okofor and offered him a room.
Alex is in a great situation with the Cardinals. An up and coming team that will give him time to develop. A big bonus is joining Acho, who can help him with the transition.
To all these great Longhorns. Thanks for the memories and nothing but good luck to you in this next phase of your careers. I just heard this over the weekend, "it's not where you get drafted, but rather that you got drafted."

Fate was on the side of the Saints, as teams ahead of them continued drafting tackles and guards, leaving quality defensive talent still on the board. Interesting, the Saints passed on both Shariff Floyd and Jarvis Jones. That should show you how much they value Vaccaro.

This from 'Inside the Bills" on Goodwin:
The Bills have doubled down on the receiver position and have taken Texas WR Marquise Goodwin, who is so fast he tried out for the Olympic sprint and relay team. But Goodwin explains that he’s not a track star.“Track guys just have linear speed,†said Goodwin. â€I have proved I have more than linear speed. Track really are known to not be able to catch. I have good hands. I run routes. I get out of my breaks. I can run other routes than just running a nine. I’m tough. I have taken on hits. I have blocked. I have even got map for blocking in one game and I didn’t even touch a ball that game. I don’t think a track guy could go out there and get MVP for blocking.â€

This from AZ Central on Okofor:
The Cardinals opened the third day of the draft by selecting Texas defensive end/outside linebacker Alex Okafor in the fourth round.
Okafor has ideal size (6-feet-4-inches, 264 pounds) for the position. He started for three years at Texas, recording 23 sacks, including 12.5 last season.
The Cardinals entered the draft needing an outside pass rusher and also depth at defensive end.
It’s the second time in three drafts the team has drafted an outside linebacker from Texas in the fourth round. Sam Acho, a starter, joined the club in 2011. Just like Okafor, Acho was the 103rd overall pick.
Word is Acho has already contacted Okofor and offered him a room.
