Carson back from suspension at Liberty-Eylau
Let’s start with a word from our Liberty-Eylau commit, Lagaryonn Carson, via Twitter today – “Im back and im better i no i didnt get to play last week and everyone thought i was done i bet lol nahh im coming much stronger “
So it appears Carson is off suspension and will be playing this week.
No one will accuse Texarkana Liberty-Eylau of dodging quality opponents any time soon. The Leopards and Texas commit Lagaryonn Carson will face their third-straight ranked opponent Friday night in Texarkana when they take on #10 Texas High.
The going has been tough so far. The Leopards dropped a heartbreaker to Gilmer in Tyler to open the season. Carson was suspended prior to taking on state ranked Carthage, and the Leopards lost again. This time, it’s cross-town rival Texas High. L-E opened the season ranked #9. They are no longer ranked, but most still think they’re one of the best teams in the state when they’re clicking on all cylinders.
There was a sorta big uproar last week over whether or not Texas commit Sam Ehlinger should really be playing after injuring both knees in the season opener. Coming to town was highly touted Las Vegas Bishop Gorman. During the week, it was announced that Ehlinger could play. Concern set in but by game time, the decision to not play Ehlinger was made. No word yet on whether he will play this week vs Pflugerville.
This far into the season, my thought process has DeSoto as the top team in Class 6-A. Their win over Denton Guyer was impressive. The AP has Allen ranked #1, however. This is the third straight week that we have a new #1 Class 6A team.
Keep an eye on the John Tyler-New Orleans Easton game this Saturday at noon in Shreveport. Texas commit Damian Miller and the Lions will be taking on Easton and big time LB recruit Dylan Moses. Should be a good one.
