Texas Baseball beats Sacramento State in Season Opener

Texas beat Sacramento State in the season opener 6-5 at Disch Falk tonight. Parker French gets the win for the Longhorns but he ran into a little trouble in the 8th. Texas was up 6- 0 and gave up 5 runs in the top of the 8th. Horns got out of a jam and carried a one run lead into the 9th. The Hornets put a runner on second with a two-out double but Texas pitcher Ty Marlow got David Del Grande to pop-up to end the game.

THis is the 6th straight season opener the Longhorns have won.

Game 2 against Sacramento State takes place tomorrow at The Disch at 2:00 pm.

*Freshman CJ Hinojosa went 3-3 tonight.

I thought we were in deep shit last night when Sac State scored those 5 runs. Parker French went ape shit when they escaped the 8th with the lead. Awesome stuff.

Well, we played like crap today and deserved to lose. Nice little semi rally in the bottom of the 9th, and if you ask me, there is no way their second baseman had his foot on the bag for the first out of the inning. Texas should have had a chance. Oh well, we shouldn't have put ourselves in that position to begin with.

Let's forget this one and take the series tomorrow, Horns.

It was a jip call but what are we going to do.... Now it's all about taking the series, like you said. No way in hell we want to lose our opening series against the Horn-ettes.
