Texas adds a Punter to 2015 class

Aussie punter Michael Dickson visited and was offered last week. Per Jason Suchomel of Orangebloods he committed tonight and will enroll for this season

One thing for sure, he's gonna have to speed up his kicks at Texas. If he takes that long to get a kick away, he'll be eating the ball more than kicking it.

Texas took a page from LSU with the Aussie kicker....

I checked to see what the average hang time for a NFL punter and it's around 4.5-4.6. The video shows that he can kick farther and has better hang time than the average NFL punter.

If he can do that under game conditions on a consistent basis and has accuracy to kick the ball to go out of bounds within the 20 yard line then he'll be a deadly weapon and he'll make Jeff Traylor look like a good SC coach.

See, fortunately we had a scholarship to offer this stud with Lampkin not qualifying. Punting is far more valuable than the DT position. Seriously though, I still cringe at our lineman turned punter back in the early 90's. #99 Duane Vacek I believe, that was a nightmare. He specialized in the rugby punt well before Tucker, except his were not on purpose.
