Yeah the problem is some of the youth will be needed for depth purposes.

With the depth issue still being there you can see how much of a drop there was in recruiting 2-3 years ago. I am still convinced Mack had started to turn things over to Muschamp and started disconnecting from the overall recruiting process. Another year and this program is back.

I will be here at he stadium for a little while finishing my post scrimmage thoughts. Look for that later tonight.
Second half thoughts, depth is a serious issue. Connor Brewer needs to be red shirted, but he will be a very good. It was a pretty uneventful 2nd half. Nothing really caught my eye.
The defensive 2nd team isn't very good, the offensive line depth needs work, but getting better.
Was Mike Davis at the scrimmage? He was non-existent on offense for the most part.
Is Joe Bergeron the #1 back?
I think Mykkele Thompson along with DJ Monroe will be a great return tandem.

Honestly I thought we looked pretty mediocre today. YEah, the first team guys performed well but I have always hated Spring games because you can't touch the qb. Until they get knocked on their asses a few times they can candy ass around everything. Ash looked ok and Brewer was impressive to me. Don't think he will redshirt.

Anyone that things Case McCoy helped himself out today is sorely mistaken. Those picks today damaged his chance to start in any games substantially. Connor Brewer performed well under pressure. Frankly he looked like the #2 qb today.

We have another 5 months before the season starts and McCoy has plenty of opportunities left to state his case. You folks do realize that the same crap went on lst season, right??????

You do realized that Case was going up against the #1 defense. Brewer was going up against the scrubs=big difference.
I wasn't impressed with McCoy today. I look at QB's a little different since I have coached the position for 17 years. His footwork looked better today, but his arm angle is poor which will lead to inconsistency when he throws. Also, if you study his passes, they are not crisp, there is a lot of movement with the ball in the air. There were times that the tail of the ball is down in the air. He is still struggling with the deep ball.
Slow down on Brewer. He will be good, but he is headed to a red shirt which is what needs to happen.

And the other thing is that I give Brewer a ton of credit for playing the way he did. Even if it was against the 2nd or 3rd team D don't forget he is an early enrollee and a true freshman. Plus his sister is hot. Guy should get a li'l credit for that too.
