So we have 5 quartebacks. Yes, we have FIVE quarterbacks. Let's start by naming them:
1. David Ash
2. Case McCoy
3. Jalen Overstreet
4. Connor Brewer
5. Tyrone Swoopes
I am not sure how many people think ALL 5 of these kids will be content scrapping it out for playing time but I can assure you having FIVE kids with this mix of talent ain't kosher. As it looks now we will have 3 backup qb's in the form of Jalen Overstreet, Connor Brewer and Tyrone Swoopes.
Sad part is these 3 have more talent and potential than the other 2.
Something is bound to change - it is inevitable. Ash will start but beyond that nothing is certain. Both Brewer and McCoy have been in trouble with the law in the last few months. Swoopes is a likely redshirt. Jalen Overstreet is..... is.......
We haven't heard much from the Tatum HS qb. Last season he was mentioned as a guy that could see time under center - soon. Now? No word on his progress.
The point of this thread is that as Texas fans we should expect some things to change at the QB situation out of necessity. It would be unthinkable to sit all these guys for years + while we play Ash and McCoy.
