Some people think we're going to be pretty good next year.....

It all depends on the QB position IMO.

It's almost hilarious how much talent we still have on the team. A whole bunch of four stars with quite a few five stars still on the roster. People that keep bringing up 8-4 next year are really selling this team short. We went 8-4 with Case Mccoy, a whole bunch of injuries and Mack this year. Also, go look at the number of players teams are losing on our schedule. IMO I think we are favorites in every game except OU and UCLA.

Eight or nine wins, with a tougher, smarter team that doesn't wait to "survive the surge" would be a good first year for the new regime. The first year is always a break-in period for the new staff and players. Don't believe it? Check out Saint Nick losing a game his first year at 'Bammer to one of the directional Louisiana schools. I'm convinced Strong will do just fine, but some folks might need to tap the brakes a bit this fall.

Exactly the players are about to get a culture shock from brown to strong, no more lolly gagging around and half assing things. you will be held accountable and If you don't put in the work you will be gone.

I like that they're essentially saying Strong is a good hire and we can compete. Still, how can the big wig analysts be making predictions when we don't even know who the OC is yet.

I'd love a 9+ win season in Strong's first year. Imagine his second year. Good times ahead. Hook'em.

we are already better since we got Coach Strong and his S & C program

Why exactly do so many people have low expectation for next season? This was a team that rattled off 8 wins while having to endure Case McCoy at Quarterback most of the season. They lost Ash, they lost Gray and they had to deal with a Defensive Coordinator change midway through the season. This team is still largely intact and they'll have another year under their belts. While the schedule is tougher next year, I don't see why this team would be expected to do anything less than duplicate their record from last season.

I wouldn't call it low expectations, but possibly much like last year. We finished with 8 wins, unranked. If Ash stays healthy and Gray gets his wheels back by Aug, then we should get at least 9 - 10 wins. Without Ash, we have a True Soph or Frosh. Home vs. Away is kind of a toss up compared to this year.

Also, S&C changes won't happen overnight.

If strong and Bedford has been here this year we would have at least 10.
Gerg at Spring Camp would have helped as well. I think maybe we could have moved up to 9 wins since Case regressed back to his mean.

Hard to say. A lot of it depends on how the team reacts to completely new offensive and defensive schemes. Not to mention getting the soft knocked out of them.

Before this past season we were favorites in every game in vegas and Mack declared we would be "in the mix" I think thats fair, give him credit!

"Gray gets his wheels "

Not likely with that injury, may be 18 months before he is really well after that achilles tear

I don't think we have low expectations, we're just cautious about expecting too much. We are heading into the season with a new coach. Right now we don't know who our QB is going to be. Or who our Def or Off Coridinators are. I think it would be foolish to expect too much, with all of these unknowns. 8 or 9 wins with his team would be a successful first season under the Charlie Strong regime...not that we wouldn't be happy if they went undefeated!
