Just got an email earlier this morning...

All these names that are popping up by different sources are just that names. The committee has always had their eye on one guy. That one guy has still not said no to our latest talks.

Does that mean it's a lock? No. But all the energy and efforts are on Nick.

If or when he tells us no, then you'll see a lot more smoke. Bellmont and the new AD loves that no one is talking Saban.

My own feelings on this is if Nick tells us no. The coach might be someone we haven't talked about a lot.

Burton just updated the coaching search and said "no" on Saban. This fits.
Not knocking him but his info is just like the info you get out of a newspaper.

Nick can tell us no today. Who knows, but to say communication is not there is a lie.

Good post....have to agree

With the NFL coming ro playoffs, a lot of coaching spots will be coming open. They don't take weeks and weeks to hire new coaches and staffs. I feel we have a week.....10 days at most or we will be hurting. A lot of options will quickly disappear..

Hoping we get it done with the one we want.....don't want to settle

What is left to discuss with him? Seems like all are chips are out there and there is nothing more we can do to sweeten the pot for him. He is either going to take the job or not. Am I missing something here? Also, when is his deadline to give us an answer?

I have no dog in the fight, but I do not understand why it is helpful to post this info. Several of the posters here immediately run to OB and repeat what you say.

He's just sharing what he hears on good will. If people go and inform other people, so be it, he's just doing his due diligence and feeding the masses with information.

I think it's in the "cried wolf" stage at this point. After what happened with he-who-will-not-be-named's extension, no one would believe it'll be him anyway.

Jim I understand that. We said from the start at Hornsports, your going to get all the information there is and that we know. No holding back, no painting a pretty picture like Bellmont wants.

We are all true horns fans here and it's only right to let people know the real info. Not just what Bellmont wants you to hear.

I hope it's not Saban. I would much rather have Jimbo. But I have no say in anything.

^this...Is there still some negotiations going on, or is it more of an I'll get back to you with my answer?

bobby has pretty much always been no on Saban, and prob was the last to even admit UT was looking at him previously when even OB and others finally relented.

the fact OB leaked another name today seems to fit the smokescreen narrative IMO. This is like the 3rd name they have thrown out in a matter of a week.

Shaunsters info here fits with others hearing Saban is still #1

Isn't that the whole point of this site's existence...?

I think the information Shaunsters shared is pretty much common knowledge or can be easily figured out by anyone who can put 2 and 2 together. Not knocking Shaunsters, but what he shared wasn't anything earth shattering.
