It's Saturday morning and the wife and kids are all going to lunch. I don't do lunch on Saturday, I do beer on Saturday afternoon.
This Saturday I decided to start a new venture. I am writing a post on items that interested me in the previous week. I hope to make it a regular post but that depends on interest?
Item: The world is going insane of Jeremy Lin, the young point guard for the Knicks. They had won several games in a row but finally lost to the New Orleans Hornets. This prompted ESPN to put up the headline, "Chink in the Armor." Yikes, not cool especially since Jeremy is Chinese American..
Item: TCU mess. Seems there was a bit of a reach in this crackdown on felons enrolled at the Ft Worth school. All mary-jo-wanna related crap. Good grief, I thought you were supposed to smoke pot in college. Shit has really changed from my sex-drugs-rock and roll days

Item: Longhorns can rectuit tall. Four commitments and all 6'4 or over. Not a great feat but when you consider none were recruited to play basketball, it has a different meaning.

Item: The Greenvill Avenue St Patrick's Day Parade has been happening for a hundred years... OK 1979...It was cancelled this year because of lack of money? In steps Mark Cuban, owner of the World Champion Dallas Mavericks, to save the day. He put up $40K to fund the parade. He was quoted,"“I just thought it was fair that more people should be able to kill as many brain cells on Greenville Avenue as I have in my life," Cuban said.
