Hell,I am never invited. Just trying to get someone to slip up and give me the place and time.we had about 100 people last week. Invite only however. Sorry.
nice try mam. i can honestly assure you, and anyone else, that there was absolutely no ELICITATION upon my behalf. whenever i venture upon game weekend, i usually drive in to austin or fly in from houston and check in to my chosen hotel. i spend lot's of money upon these ventures as well. trust me, i never, ever, venture forth into austin, tx, admonishing the attitude of a court reporter. i arrive there with the attitude that i am going to perform any and all possible, as per the standpoint of a fan.. to assist my longhorns to win the gridiron matchup. i arrive to DKR, with an open mind and open heart. once again, not with the mindset as per a court reporter. just like you were there, i was there last week as well. i know what i saw with my very own eyes, as well as what i heard from several fans around me. i even saw one woman for who was so disgusted with her food item, that she took it after just a couple of bites.. and put the whole tray upon the floor. many people were hot and thirsty, and complaining quite often about the high prices of water. some fans were hereby complaining about the very poor excuse of a team intro, and especially when the team ran into DKR as the intro was playing. many fans were complaining that they could not here the band playing for all of the silly noise that was coming from the jumbotron. when i arrived back at the w hotel, i opened my iPad air, and ventured into many of my forum / websites just to test the ongoing vibes from the fans that were in attendance. ob alone, had 4x count threads that were loaded with fan complaints. heck, even i was stunned! and that was just the first site that i visited...Well, well, well...some of you wait for the answers to questions rather than simply listening and looking!
Did anyone notice that there was no, I repeat no Taco Bell gong, and no Taco Bell available to purchase in the Stadium? There were no idiotic dot races or other games on the 'tron'. The music was turned down and it was not nearly so annoying. In fact, much of the music was good enough that the players were dancing to it in pre game.
I was in the stands about 90 minutes prior to kickoff because I love to watch warmups. The team came out in different groups early, as they were ready to begin, and as their needs dictated. Then, they came as a group in warm up clothes. Later they emerged from the locker room in game uni's for a bit more warm up.
During the team warm ups the 'tron' showed fan close ups. I was more interested in pre-game prep. Another fan arriving early was more interested in food and purchased what he considered very good nachos at the concession. He thought the food was much better.
My one complaint: Too many fan shots and not enough team shots. I am there to watch Texas Football, and I really don't need the distractions created by a theme park atmosphere. To each his own. If I want to go to a circus, I will go to a circus. If I want to see a football game, I will go to a high school game, or to a Texas football game.
Fans were into the game, and they seemed to have a good time. They loved what Strong has done with the program. If anyone heard complaints, they probably elicited them with the questions that were asked.
Just my opinion.
