Torrodney Prevot told Rivals.com he has trimmed his list.

"I have been narrowing it down to a few schools like LSU, Texas A&M, Oregon, USC and Cal," Prevot said. "I've been cutting it down a lot. It's really those five. I'm still open though. Anybody could still come in and recruit me because I'm not only looking at those five.

In my opinion, this is a huge blow to Texas defensive recruiting. They were on this kid early and often and from what I heard really wanted him in the mix. It's not the end of the world but with Daeshon Hall decommiting and going to Washington a few weeks ago, Manny Diaz will have to find other Defensive ends to recruit in the state. The problem is there are not much left that are truly elite prospects at the defensive end position in-state. I could see Jake Raulerson moving to DE if both Jackson Jeffcoat and Alex Okafor leave for the NFL Draft. But it looks like Texas might have to look out of state to get a DE commitment.

This is a big announcement even if it is only a top 5 list with other "potentials." The defensive end position is an important position in the class for the reasons stated above. Okafor is a high draft pick next year and Jeffcoat is probably as good as gone for the NFL also. There are some undecideds that are out-of-state like Tim Williams, Nazair Jones and a few others. Texas just needs to start working it pretty hard. Just because Texas may not be on their radar doesn't mean UT is not an attractive option.

And what is the deal with Cal? ESJ and Prevot name Cal as schools they are considering. This makes no sense to me.

Dajuan Drennon is a marked man.

Drennon is huge at this point with Prevot pretty much out of the picture, this is important. Can we beat Notre Dame and WVU? We'll see

Still wondering what the lure to Cal would be. Unbef##kingleivable.

Never cared for Prevot and his diva attitude. I remember how everyone swooned like this over David Warren that went to FSU in the 90s and didnt really do much.
