Pop Up Ads

I've heard several of you complain about pop up ads in the last day or so. I got a PM today from a member who is having trouble even seeing the site.

This just started a day or so ago, correct?

I have contacted Aaron about this. I'm sure he'll be able to get it corrected soon.

Worse on my phone than on laptop. I've seen so many ads about Kraft grilled cheese sandwiches that I'm now congested and constipated.
I mean the ad just will NOT go away.

Has anyone here tried using "Opera" for a browser? I use it and have liked it. It has built-in ad blockers. Simple and easy interface. I have no problem at this site using it.

FYI folks, I have contacted Aaron again to let him know the problem is persisting. Hopefully he'll get it resolved soon.

Hi guys,

The Kraft ad was an epic fail… sorry about that. The skinny is we ware working with a new media company to help with advertising options for the site and that particular ad had a glitch in it.

It should be remedied now, but we will continue to monitor things.

Also, yes, there are other types of ads that are being displayed on the site. These will likely not go away - it’s the way we keep things free here.

Appreciate your patience and support as we fine tune things headed into football season.

I had the same issue on my phone, it had a button to "skip" the ad but you couldn't skip it! Just had to close the browser and wait until I was near my laptop, which wasn't as bad. Glad to hear they resolved it.

I use DuckDuckGo for a browser. It's supposed to block pop-ups. So far it's doing it's job. I don't see any ads.
