I know it's been a while (about 11 months) but I have finally return back to the place I got my career in sports writing started.
For those who don't know me, I began writing for Horn Sports around June of last year, I then was selected to be the Lead Editor of the Fansided's Texas Longhorns website Hook'em Headlines and took that opportunity. After a year I began talking to Aaron again and I was become overwhelmed at Fansided while I became the editor of two sites (Arch Authority was the other one). I decided that I liked being a writer of all things Texas Longhorns instead of editing, finding and maintaining a staff and running multiple twitter accounts.
I realized that I had fun being on this message board and listening to Big Mike's podcasts that being on a successful team makes a great website. With Aaron, Big Mike, Johnny and many other outstanding writers, I knew I wouldn't have to cover everything and I could focus on writing some great pieces instead of "mailing it in" like I felt I did on some of the articles I wrote.
So I have decided to come back and just be a staff writer and I gotta tell ya, it feels great. A weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. Fansided is a great place and I still plan on helping them get Arch Authority going because of my pride for my hometown of St. Louis but I needed more time to write the best articles and focus on my new wife and child so I had to shed some responsibility there and I decided that coming back to Horn Sports was the best option to still cover all things Longhorns.
I am excited to be back!!
