I know there has been talk from some posters that Texas needs a new look. I like our unforms just fine and don't want our team to look like psychedelic walking neon signs. I know i am going to catch hell from our younger posters on this topic. Some of these teams have unforms that look like it came from outer space. My friends y'all have a great week.

tweaks would be fine by me. also wouldn't mind a 3rd uni as long as it was classic and not oregon/tech/aggy/maryland

While I agree with you that we shouldn't look like "psychedelic walking neon signs" and I am far from a younger member but keep in mind a little change here or there might not be a bad thing. Weather or not we like it, or even want to admit it for that matter, kids do like the different uniforms and having a couple of variations might not be a bad thing for the program.

I don't like the numbers on the helmets. To me the old one looked a lot better. Other than that I like our uniforms.

Jim I'm with you man. I realize the kids like all of the new-fangled, crazy looking jerseys but I am more concerned with winning and the last time I checked, the teams that are the traditional powers do quite well without changing their uniforms weekly or even multiple times during the season. Hell, if you don't have a tradition then why not change your jerseys weekly?

On the flip side, if you DO have a tradition then why screw with it? Bama seems to have NO problem winning with their boring jerseys week-in, week-out.

What a lot of people don't realize is that our uniforms technically did change this year. And I think the improvements that they made were solid improvements without negatively effecting the brand. With that said, I wouldn't mind Texas implementing a Black or Grey alternate set of uniforms.

Oregon will be debuting these against Texas in the Valero Bowl.

No! Traditional top programs don't need for Nike to screw around with the Uni's, and we are a traditional top program. Take the numbers off of the helmets and leave the uni's alone. Do not touch the tight whites!

Our uniforms have been tweaked multiple times over the last 50 yrs or so

We didnt have a Longhorn logo until the early 60's

then it had numbers on the helmet, that went away a few yrs later

Burnt orange came in around 1960 or so, bright orange until then

The word TEXAS went on the front of the jersey in late 70's

we used to wear orange stockings, no bare calfs

we have tweaked the size, shape, and type of lettering and numbers multiple times

we have had stripes down the side of the pants

we use to have long socks trimmed with orange after we no longer wore stockings

we have had numbers on the sleeves, no numbers on the sleeves, stripes on the sleeves etc

To say we dont need uniform changes because they are perfection is pretty short sided, they have been tweaked numerous times

As long as we're on the subject. What did y'all think of the RRR new uniforms? Subtle changes but changes non the less.

I can handle the small touches just not the ratical ones.

So how much of a discount dose Phil Knight give to Oregan Ducks sports. Phil Knight makes millions off schools like Texas and others. Do y'all think he passes that on to Oregon in the form of cheaper uniforms not counting donations.

I know Texas don't have to take a back to anyone when it comes to BMD. But Nike makes there money off other schools then give that money to the Oragon Ducks. Just something about that just don't sound right. My friends y'all have a great week.

As long as black is not added into the unis, some changes would be ok but only as an alternate. (3rd) uni.

Keep our unis the same but would like a 3rd alternative uni as well.

I love traditional uniforms: Texas, Penn St, Michigan, Chicago Bears are a few of my favorites.

Actually I think Nike gives the UNI's and gear to most of the schools as part of a sponsorship for Marketing purposes. They get the swoosh spread all over TV every Thursday and Saturday. Coaches can only wear Nike Approved cloths on the sidelines at the schools contracted with Nike.
