Howdy Longhorn fans!

Me (32) and my wife (29) took a random, spontaneous trip yesterday, and the fine folks at the airport counter sent us out to Austin. Loving it so far, and we even snagged a couple tix to tomorrow’s game as well.

Would love to get an authentic experience and tailgate with some true Longhorn faithful. We are from Indiana so football isn’t our thing, and we want to see what a real tailgate looks like. We can bring cash or whatever that makes it worth your while.

Any pointers or anything you can offer would be great for us tourists.

I'm watching from my house but for a first timer, you need to swing by Scholz Garten for a beer or 3. It opens at 11am, the earlier you get there the better. At 3pm just northeast of the stadium there is a free concert Charley Crockett and Drew Fish Band to perform at Longhorn City Limits Sept. 3 - University of Texas Athletics (texassports.com) Stubbs BBQ will be selling sandwiches at the concert and they're always good.

If you're wearing the right colors, just stop by any tailgate, introduce yourselves and you more than likely be welcomed. Of course if you have a small cooler of beer or a bottle of liquor you're willing to share, even better.
