Today is the day that these kids can start singing their Letters of Intent.

OF Tristen Lutz rated as the 67th best prospect in his class, from Arlington Heights also played for the Academy Select Sundevils during the summer.

RHP and newest member to the 2017-2018 class, Landon Leach, rated as the 95th best prospect in his class.

Two sport star Kamron Fields was one of the 1st pickup by David Pierce this past summer. Rated as 314th best prospect in this class.

SS Bennett Inhoff Episcopal High School(Houston) is rated in the top 500 overall.

C Turner Gauntt, son of former Longhorn Baseball Player, Robert Gauntt. Robert was on the team from 82-84.

RHP and the local product, Cole Quintanilla, Cedar Park High School, When Missouri made a change with their Head Coach, David Pierce was there waiting.

Monday evening I get a message asking me to send them(Texas) any images that I have on the players that are signing today.

The above link gives details on the signees. It is interesting to note that we signed 3 juco pitchers and 1 out of state pitcher. Am I correct in thinking TCU, A&M, Rice, and possibly Tech have the upper hand in recruiting ?

This statement by Kamron Fields may indicate the climate "Texas used to be highly known for baseball so my class and I plan to help bring life back to Austin." It hurts to read that.

Pierce seems to have a much different approach to recruiting by signing players far in advance. I hope we are getting quality over quantity.
