Men's NCAA Regional Golf Tournament

[North Texas Golfer]

Play started yesterday at the UT Golf Club. Early in the 2nd round the Texas men are in 1st place with an 8 shot lead over the 2nd place team. Final round is tomorrow and the top five will advance to Nationals at Rich Harvest Farms.

For the Horns, Doug Ghim is currently in 1st place and Gavin Hall and Scottie Scheffler are T3.

Ghim still the leader, Hall now in 2nd, and Scheffler still T3.

Horns could go on a nice revenge tour! Just one fluke injury kept them away from the national title last year…

Horns stumbling a bit at the end of the front nine. Think it's pretty windy. Fortunately no one making a big move however.

Lead is down to 7 and down to 14 over the 6th place team.

Ghim, Hall, and Scheffler are all now in a 5-way tie for first. 

Okay, everyone is on their own now for updates. Have to leave for the rest of the afternoon. I'm counting on all you to not let anything bad happen. Have I made myself clear

Looks like we finished today with a 4 stroke lead. Doug Ghim at the top with Hall and Scheffler 2 strokes behind him in third

Dang, down to a 4 stroke lead. 

Looks like #15 kicked our butt. Using the scores that counted, we played it in 6 over and Okie State played it even par. That's a huge six shot swing on one hole.

Horns off to a good start very early today. Have increased the lead to 7 and Ghim has just teed off.

Crap! Going the wrong direction. Down to a 1 stroke lead and only beating 2 teams (out of 14) so far today.

Damn it! Tied for the lead now and only 13 strokes ahead of 6th place. Sounds like a lot but really isn't in this format. Had a 6 shot swing on one hole yesterday.

:angry:  Horns have dropped to 3rd place, 4 shots out of first and 2 shots out of second. Still 18 shots clear of 6th place which is the most important thing. 

Edit: As I type this Texas have moved back into 2nd place, 1 stroke ahead of Iowas State and 2 strokes back of Okie State. 

Texas is 4 under for the day, Okie State 10 under, and Iowa State is 20 under for the day! One of their kids is 9 under through 15 holes!

Well, they didn't hold on for 1st, but they at least grabbed 2nd. Good enough to move on to Nationals.

Not really. Texas, leading by 4 over Okie State to start the day, shot 8 under and only 3 teams (out of 14) shot better. Unfortunately, Okie State shot 14 under to win by 2.

We played the 18th at 2 over and Okie State played it in even par. That was the difference right there.
