Mack prob thought his "friend" was going to save him. Mack tried to power play his way into staying, and some have said Powers wasnt expecting that to be coming it in the Friday meeting. by Sat the big cigars were basically all out demanding Mack be taken care of so call it a retirement if you want - he was fired in terms there was no other option for him

I can imagine Mack is pissed at Powers but tough shit IMO

Powers was pissed because of Mack Crawfishing on their deal this season.

Put Powers in a tough position and now has him between a rock and a hard place with BMDs and the BOR.

Powers never thought Mack would do that to him.

By the way Powers leaked that info to Chip. At least that is word I got in order to force Mack's hand in the publics eye.

Mack is now mad that Powers didn't fight the BMD's off for one more year.

Mack delays his resignation to screw our deadline around with Saban.

Mack is not who everyone thinks he is.

It is true that they're not as close as many have assumed but to say they are, in fact, not speaking any longer is conjecture at this point. It may be a good guess but that is probably all it is.

Powers friends tend to be lean more to the Academic side.

MB has lot more than Power friendship. MB has lost most of the fan base and BMD when he tried to make himself bigger than the University Of Texas. Mack tried to hold the Texas Football Program hostage till he got another year. It will take a long time to a lot of people to forgive him for that just the way I feel.
