Malik, Wheeler, Vahe

So, I missed the post-game presser. Did Charlie offer an explanation for why they were benched (especially why Vahe was benched for the entire game)?

They are leaving, right?
This turned out to be less of a "big deal" than I thought.  I'm not sure about Vaje, but Malik and Wheeler both played a lot.  Not running in with the starters seemed to be "shock treatment" to wake them up.  It certainly seemed to work in Malik's case....

If they were "benched" whether it is the right thing to do or not.... in today's environment, I certainly think transfer would be an option.  Moreover, when a coach is fired, players transferring is always a possibility, isn't it?

I just saw Vahe on the line for the wining FG so he did see the field.

Fellows, I think they finally gave Malik more freedom to wreak havoc rather than send him time and again into offensive linemen who outweigh him by 75 pounds, at least some of the time. I blame the coaches for playing him out of position. Last year, perhaps it was necessary. This year, with Roach, Hager, and Freeman it wasn't. However, they kept wasting his talent. The same talent we saw spin an opposing player around, cause a fumble, scoop it up, and run cat quick into the end one.

We could have been watching that all year. Dammit.

Hook 'em, guys!

Sorry, fellows. Guess I'm still annoyed. I love Malik and the rest of those guys. I think Strong let the pressure get to him, and he made some terrible decisions.

Totally agree with this.

No reason whatsoever that this team could not have won at least 9 games this year. Probably 10. Pisses me off.

Pisses me off too. And like you I think if he gets to six wins we will have the same shit show next year.

What keeps my hopes up is we have some very good posters on here who feel the die is cast towards canning Charlie. God I hope they are right.

We still have a chance to win 9 games...
