Frank Herron, strongside defensive end from Central High School in Memphis, Tennessee surprisingly was on campus today visiting the Texas program. Herron is a top 30 national ranked player and has been committed to LSU since last June. HE is 6-5 and 270 lbs. Evidently we can thank the recruiting wonder of Larry Porter for Herron visiting.... Herron has a ton of respect for Porter and Porter has been recruiting Herron since Porter was HC at Memphis.

WHile Herron is still considerd a strong LSU lean it is nice to know that we continue to explore all options for this class.

Porter is going to be gold. When this program turns the corner and is back in the national championship race his work will be really noticed.

Loose rumors are maintaining that Frank Herron has flipped and will become a Longhorn. Nothing official yet but it sounds promising.

If we can ever get back to 11-12 wins Porter may be able to get 10 5* to sign. He is an unreal recruiter.

And this is even better (from a thread on TigerDroppings.com) - Frank Herron visitng Texas today - Page 10 - TigerDroppings.com

"Herron will probably leave due to he doesnt want to live in RN's shadow if we get him. And, I believe Herron is a man of faith and I know Mack Brown teaches alot of faith at Texas. Being that Texas was the last place he visited and that they dont have any DE's, that helps Texas also. Not being a nega-tiger, just throwing it out there."

I say let the church service begin!

It appears he will hold a Tuesday press conference. I think this is good news for us.

I would rather have a Herron...... than a Robin(son).

Reports out now that Herron will in fact stick with LSU.
