With today's announcement of OG Rami Hammad, Irving, TX (Irving) Ht: 6-5 | Wt: 320 | our Texas Longhorns have completed one the most impressive haul of offensive linemen in the schools history.

Hammad is a four-star prospect who is ranked No. 219 overall and No. 9 at his position in the 247Sports rankings. He held offers from everyone in his top four, along with Arizona, Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Colorado, California, Duke, Michigan State and more. He's from Irving, TX (Irving) Ht: 6-5 | Wt: 320 |. He was brought to the attention of OLine coach Stacy Searel's, by Longhorn commit Naashon Hughes and Texas began recruiting him. He had a visit schuduled with OU this past weekend but cancelled and went to Austin instead. Austin vs Norman with Austin winning.. :)

Monday the Longhorns received a commitment of Contra Costa CC offensive tackle Desmond Harrison to Texas. He is a massave 6'8 and 320 pounds. A solid three star sophomore, he will have two years of eligability remaining. The coaching staff believes that he can come in and compete for a starting job immediately, meaning that offensive line coach Stacy Searels hasn't been particularly impressed with the play of one or both of his starting tackles, senior Donald Hawkins and junior Josh Cochran.

Both Hammad and Harrison join three of the top ranked Olinemen in the state. In Darius James, Kileen TX, UT got the number one ranked center in the nation according to ESPN. At 6'5 and 320 pounds he is a solid four star player.

Kent Perkins, Lake Highlands, Dallas TX is another solid 4 star recruit. At 6'5 and 295 pounds he is the number 4 ranked OT in the nation according to ESPN.

Jake Raulerson, Celina, TX is 6'5 and 262 pounds. Already enrolled at UT he is another four star player ranked number 9 ranked OT in the country, again according to ESPN.

In all Texas has 15 recruits, for now, and of those 12 four are four star and 3 are three star according to ESPN.

By comparison the Aggies have over 30 recruits but trail the Longhorns in top 150 recruits by 6 to 5.

This is called "LIKE A BOSS" recruiting. The OL recruits are downright beastly for Stacy Searels. Raulerson is going to play defense and if A'shawn remains committed this class is well above amazing. Mack has rarely let us down in February and it sure doesn't look like he will this year. Started slow and now is picking up steam.

and..Mack is sure changing his way of doing business to reflect a more agressive approach..Last night on The Orange Report Justin was talking of Mack visiting a sophomore in his area. Never would have seen that in years gone by when it was wait until Junior Day and get all you need.

Helluva an O line class that Searels has put together. Last years class and this one are both extremely good classes.

It has a chance to rival the Blalock class..Notice I said a chance..

No doubt. The guys have to continue to work and improve once they get on campus. If they all stay healthy and work hard, it definitely has a chance to be one of the best we've had.

Probably the best contribution Naashon Hughes will end up making at Texas. So we'll owe him for that.

Until we really see Searels make a difference on the field, a lot of us are still going to be skeptical. Someday we've got to have coaches that can recruit, as opposed to recruiters that can coach.
