Latest Rumors on new Head Coach

Isnt there some kind of contractual roadblock to him leaving to a member school AD while under contract?
Hey didn't you get the memo? We make all the rules(according to Agie), so we can just change them.

Mediocre play aside..They beat Agie at College Station. I bet no other team does that this season. Bama just wins. Somethimes they are not pretty, but they win.
UL sucked ass while Steve Kragthorpe ran the place into the ground. Strong took a broken mid major and turned it into a really good football team.
Saban is the #1 guy I know I know, but its foolish to overlook these younger guys for someone who will be retiring in a few years.
While I agree to an extent I liken UL's success to Boise St. They both play in exceedingly terrible divisions and really only have to play to play great ball 1 or 2 times a year. Im not sure how much success UL has in a division where they have to play every week. Not discounting their success entirely, just not sold on Strong for that reason but I do think he'd be a step up,

Bob Bowlsby hired Harbaugh and Shaw at Stanford. He knows how to evaluate coaches. Hire Bowlsby and let him do his thing.
The AD hire is everything... Lay the complete foundation first... Coaches come next, football, basketball, baseball

We know Deloss is leaving but what we do not know is the timetable for Mack's departure. We can assume he does not return next season but when does the official word come? I think a loss to OU would be the catalyst for an announcement soon after. Especially a blowout loss to the Sooners.

It's possible that Bob Stoops will try to make it close so that Mack Brown can stay on for a few more years. Any smart opponent would want to see Mack Brown stay at Tex for as long as possible.

By far, but he cant keep from stepping on his yang.

New names entering the chatter:

Current Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin and Ohio State's Urban Meyer.

My assumption is that you wouldn't bring this to the table unless you felt that there was atleast the possibility... I like Tomlin and he's having a season that would propel his exit. But why would Urban leave OSU when he has a conference to own?

The rumors are Meyer told the powers that be around here to seek him out if the job ever came open.

Tomlin's is more of a "his handler got at us" thing.

I seriously doubt either of these guys end up at Texas. Of the 2 I would say Tomlin is the more likely (with the bad season in Pittsburgh). Even then I would say he is more likely to land a HC job with another NFL team.
