Everyone officially agreed to start a (4) team playoff in 2015. Not all the details are out but no longer will we see Bama vs LSU II shoved down our throats..

REJOICE, REJOICE!!! RIP BCS in 2014. Not exactly what I had imagined but at least we have a playoff in college football. It took only 3 hours for the group of University Presidents to approve the playoff system, which is incredible to me. It will feature 4 teams that will be paired in national semifinals - #1 vs. #4 & #2 vs. #3 but it will rotate among the 4 major bowls (Orange, Sugar, Fiesta & Rose) AND 2 others. I don't think the Weedeater bowl in Shreveport is being considered so sorry to disappoint you.

Big East might be toast sooner rather than later since they no longer are an automatic qualifier, which will go by the wayside with the new playoff format. I like what Big 12 Commissioner called it - "an open marketplace for all schools."

This is a glorious day for college football because it is a HUGE step closer to where we need to be but also because it puts the nail in the coffin for the BCS.
