Kyler's other option a la Ricky and Ced

Perhaps Kyler has another option other than a LOI to AtM or UT. Perhaps he's considering the Ricky Williams or Cedric Benson path;  i.e., play minor league baseball in the summer and practice/play football in the spring and fall. Ricky and Ced did that very effectively and were football walk-ons. That's also another way for Coach Strong to add another scholarship player to the roster and for Kyler to get paid now. I'm not aware of any rule changes that would preclude this option.

I'm a little suprised this hasn't been talked about more as I think there is zero chance Murray plays both football and baseball in burnt orange.  Why would he when it has been rumored that Murray is looking at a $1 million dollar signing bonus to play minor league baseball.

IMO, Murray will be playing baseball this time next year and that leads to only two options, totally commit to MLB and delay the start of his eligibility clock in college, or go the Ricky Williams route and his MLB team pay for his college and he becomes a very talented part time football player which I'm totally fine with.

I think most people underrate Murray greatly as a baseball player as he is just as elite playing that sport.  Incredible talent and bright future for the young man.

Valid point, except for his uncle Calvin, who also had an opportunity to go pro, but turned it down to play baseball at Texas.  Calvin knows the grind of the minors.  It is very likely that he is in Kyler's ear about this and what his options are.  Calvin also works for Scott Boras, so he's seeing it from all perspectives: Prospect, Student, College Player, Pro and Agent.
