It looks like the Brother Martin tight end is headed to Alabama. We were told Smith may have cancelled his in home visit with Charlie Strong scheduled for today. We are still checking with other sources but this one started trending towards Bama this week.

FWIW the Bama Rivals board thinks Smith is still a Texas lean. At least that's what was posted on SECRant.

This is just one source so they could be wrong but it's a pretty solid one. We will see if Charlie makes that visit

Looks like the news is starting to come out.  In home with Charlie cancelled, expected to sign with Bama.

Someone correct me if I have this wrong, but I read somewhere that Gilbert's Tulsa offense didn't use the TE as a receiver very much. If so, I wonder if that was the difference.

This is probably what happened. A guy like LJH is more suited for GIlbert's O than Irvin Smith. However, Irvin would have been a really great pull.

And Bama's offense uses TE as a receiver more?

I'm not saying he made a bad decision, but if he wants to play for a team that uses a TE as a receiver, there are other teams he could have considered especially since he better be really good if he wants to play anytime soon.

But then again, he was committed to aggie.

Yeah that's true. But all things considered we are gonna have a hell of a good class

I have been saying all along that I was nervous about Smith coming to Texas. He seemed SEC all the way.

LJH is a Gilbert's dream. LJH can play a number of positions – well. TB. WR. SL. TE. H-B. And what Gilbert can do with that is worthy being giddy over.

That's what I'm talking about!  This toy is needed...  Very versatile and once he puts on 30 pounds, TE perfection at 6' 5".

It doesn't sound like the coaches will look at him at TE. In his interview LJH said the Texas coaches said he would get at WR and some RB. The UT coaches didn't mention to him that he would get a look at TE.

Was watching on of Malik's periscope videos. In it there were comments to the guy with the camera. One comment was Irvin? And the the player said "sorry". Then moved on. Guess Irvin is gone.
