I'm going to cancel OB as soon as Mack confirms he's coming back next year but the meltdown tonight is pretty epic.

Thing is you have one group that wanted what was best for UT and were willing to believe anything as long as MB was gone...the other group has been trolling UT sites waiting for this moment so they could try to troll us ( nice try Anubis and MrTaylorDuck)... Fact is the latter is a miserable group of people who will try and drag others down to their level of misery.

My True Longhorn brothers/sisters...resist the urge to say anything to or about the trolls, they will tire and leave. I almost got caught up in the emotion myself...then I realized he/she was just a miserable POS and wasn't worth my time.

It's not a matter of believing or not believing. This was a power struggle where renegade boosters were trying to take control of the program. Wittingly or unwittingly these gossip sites were made pawns in a clash of the titans. If you're going to earn your legitimacy as a reporter, you've got to figure out how to not get played.

Harbaugh is the next target, but not the only one. Saban was the one case where all eggs would be in one basket. There will be a committee formed now, IMO, but again the leg work will be done for them.

Unfortunately, IMO, this will now play out on a longer time frame. I'm afraid that's going to screw up our class this year with things being in limbo so close to signing day.

People don't leak sensitive info during the middle of a negotiation unless they are either a) trying to manipulate the story, or B) they are completely incompetent.

I would like to think graduates and boosters from our school are not the latter.

Even if Saban fell apart -- and it's entirely possible that it fell apart simply on its own -- the manipulation still achieved its initial goal, because there is no way Mack sticks around for 2014. Not with this fanbase foaming at the mouth as they are now.

There was always going to be a committee to find the next coach and said committee always has the legwork for them...just like in 97.

Yep. I was in the stands for the end of Freddy Akers and it got pretty bad then.
